The company was founded in 1984 by Karl Lagerfeld. In just a few years it has developed and is now present in more than 100 countries with more than 300 stores and a strong presence in digital commerce.
In May 2022, the entire share of Karl Lagerfeld was bought by G-III Apparel Group, Ltd., making them the sole owner of the brand. This transition made KL an American company allowing it to strengthen in reliability and power.
